NZMS welcomes new Business Development Manager for Southern Region

Stephen Hardman has been appointed the role of Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Southern Region and brings with him a wealth of expertise. A central focus of the role is maintaining and building on existing customer relationships, while also making new connections, to enable NZMS’s growth within the region – and Stephen’s extensive experience aligns perfectly with this mission.

“One of the things that attracted me to the role was the ability to work within the Cultural Heritage/GLAM sector, something that I’ve always been very interested in. It’s also an exciting time to be working for NZMS because of the current plans for expansion – I’m eager to discover new markets and opportunities for the company. Most of all, I’m looking forward to getting to know all our current customers and learning about the amazing products we offer.”

Before taking on the BDM role, Stephen was an External Engagement Manager at the University of Canterbury for six years, where he also previously taught as a lecturer and tutor in History. During his time as External Engagement Manager, he significantly increased the active partnerships in the Professional and Community Engagement programme to over 250 external projects a year. This saw innumerable benefits for students who were able to gain work experience in a variety of fields – an otherwise near-impossible task.

“My time at the University of Canterbury was incredibly valuable, it taught me the importance of working with diverse communities and people, and the exciting new opportunities or possibilities that can be created through these connections.”

Stephen’s proven track record for developing significant partnerships and nurturing relationships made him an outstanding candidate and NZMS looks forward to welcoming him to our team.
