Emanuella joined NZMS as a Digitisation Technician in March 2019. She has a background in photography, having completed a Master of Fine Arts at Elam in 2016, and she continues to pursue this activity outside of work in the form of landscape photography. After finishing her studies in Auckland, Emanuella moved back to her hometown of Christchurch, where she achieved a Master of Strategic Communications in 2019. While studying, she took an internship at The Big Idea as a writer, which cemented her interest in that field.
Her role grew in 2021 to include the responsibilities of Marketing Content Creator, where she wrote content for the website and managed the social media channels, while still continuing to develop her skills in digitisation.
In August 2022, Emanuella stepped into the role of Marketing Coordinator at NZMS and is excited to continue writing stories about the fascinating material that comes into NZMS’s offices, as well as develop connections within the cultural heritage sector. She is passionate about digitisation and hopes to continue learning how to support the GLAMIR sector, working together to better protect Aotearoa’s precious history and taonga.
In her spare time, Emanuella is an aspiring ceramicist and has a particular interest in creating wheel thrown pottery!
