One woman had a dream and NZMS were privileged to be part of it.
As part of the Splash 2015 exhibition (Theme WW1 in watercolour), Exhibition Manager Claire Clark sourced and coordinated the retrieval of works from seven ‘guest artists’ – servicemen who painted/drew while serving during WW1 – from Archives NZ offices around the country. NZMS was called into service for the digitising and reprinting of these works designed to complement the contemporary offerings from the talented artists of Watercolour New Zealand.
Andy Fenton, Janine Delaney and Michelle Henderson were thrilled to accept an invitation to the official opening held on Fri 17 April. Following a speech by Rear Admiral David Ledson ONZM CRSNZ RNZN (Ret), the exhibition was blessed and the collection unveiled to the delight of the waiting attendees.

Well done to all involved – especially Claire Clark. I’m sure those being honoured by this exhibition would have been humbled by this tribute to them and to all those who have served.
